It sounds like you have read Frank Viola's book "Reimaging the Church". I'm reading it right now. The "One Anothers" gave you away. I understand what he's saying and much of what I'm reading I've read before. It will be interesting to see how this all gets started. The home groups I've experienced are just replications of the institutional church only smaller.

I think Institutional Churches have and will do some good things, because after all it's God not them that's doing the doing. But the structure and way they are organized doesn't work and we need to figure that out, listen to God, and change it.

I would agree and I have been going thru similar journey as you, but I believe some have to stay in that fellowship mould to help others along to this journey. I think that the days of the big building are over, even though many will remain, (the enemy couldn't beat Him so he joined him) I see the paradigm of church moving back to its origins, small home based fellowships practicing the "one anothers" and the elders(Calebs, you and I and others) encouraging the younger(Joshuas) to seek 1st the Kingdom of God and all that means, which is different for all but leading towards one path and that is the Son receiving His full inheritance here now and forever more.

Yes, change is coming. But the question remains, can we give up the traditions of man for the Kingdom of God? Are we willing to trade our club mentality, to realize that we will never fit in, not even to a church. We keep looking for something that may be impossible. Only through Christ and a relationship, can the body be fulfilled. As the line between the traditions of man and the Kingdom of God are drawn, will followers be willing to leave behind what they thought they knew, for Him?
That is the real question.

The institutional church is stilled tied to this, but I'm seeing here and some across the country a move towards intimacy with the Father, Son "and" Holy Spirit. Too many forget the 3rd part. We are seeing the whole Gospel of the Kingdom, not just the gospel of salvation, walked out and its like.... finally!

I think the problem is still here. I think we as a culture and as followers of Christ still get wrapped up in causes rather than Jesus.
I understand why those who don't follow do this, but why do people involved with God?
It's because relationship of any kind is much more difficult than relationship with a cause.
Causes become all about us.

So Oswald Chambers saw and wrote about this in the early 1900s. Do you think believers today are stronger in devotion to God or weaker? What think you all?
