Bill, It's odd I was thinking about you early this morning. I saw that book you sent me and wondered where you are these days. Would love to get together sometime.

As for wearing my heart on my sleeve, I think the campaign robbed me of some of that and I'm starting to get it back. It makes the world very uncomfortable when we share what we really think. In many ways, the critics see it as their job to "Shut you down". You have to go back and ask yourself, why don't they want me to speak? Why are they so uncomfortable with the truth?

As I explore this topic I'm finding that I still have layers of protection and need to learn to let out even more. I think this is called being human, at least for me. So, let the critics say what they want they aren't going to shut me up anymore. I think that's called Intolerance a word they are quite good at throwing out there.

You've heard of "Wearing your heart on your sleeve."? Well, Rick wears his soul on his sleeve -- heck, he wears his soul on his heart and his heart on his sleeve! This is something that is very endearing. The trouble is that there are many layers to our existence -- the public layer being the one that's most 'out there' so to speak. The people who play here with Rick are generally of like mind and spirit. This site and the things that are discussed and revealed here is at a layer much closer to the soul than the public layer.

Not to get too existential on anything - but we all layer our relationships. Just because you only allow someone to see the top or second layer does not mean that you are "hiding" something - it's just that some things can be understood by everyone, some many, some by a few, and some only when you have a personal conversation with God. Politicians need to let their inner layers shine through - but the public in not entitled to now would understand the things that go on within the inner layers.

Once again the criticizer is seizing upon semantics in attacking Rick for admitting that he was hiding something. I call Bull*#$!

I love and respect Rick Dancer. I can only hope to be so genuine!

Kari, it is interesting because the article is about exactly what you did to it. Missrepresenting the truth that Rick has been talking about. The fact is you dont like him because he threatens you, because if the people begin listening to him, political discourse as you see it would be obsolete, that is, you will loose your bully pulpit. Politics does not have to be so complicated Kari, just be honest with people and keep it simple.

That does make me wonder though, I guess unemployment would go up if that sort of common sense message were to get through. You would be out of a, and well, I dont know any one besides blue oregon who would hire you. Hmmmm. But then you could use those welfare programs you such a fan of. :)

I believe it's not the fact that I'm a Republican that, as you put it, scares them. I think what bothers my skeptics is that I don't fit in anywhere and there are more and more Oregonians who seriously relate to that. What scares them the most is that I truly believe in Nonpartisanship.

More proof that you scare the crap out of the Democrats, Rick. And they should be scared of a Republican who won Lane County by over 17k votes! You're going to continue to be in their crosshairs. Keep it up!
