The strangest thing happened to me today. I was in Full City, that’s not the strange part. This guy walks up to me and says, “Can I hug you”? I said “Why” he said because a bunch of my friends are doing a Scavenger Hunt and hugging you is on the list of things to do. I looked at the list, sure enough there I was, big as day. It said, “hug Rick Dancer”. So, I hugged the guy, signed a card so he could prove that it had happened and away he went.
I wonder whom the next hug will go to.
He told me not to hug anyone else.
Ha, I am indeed also on this scavenger hunt list. Whoever this person is though clearly broke the rules. You see, the spirit of this list was to get engaged in summer and truly enjoy it. Get out and do things. All of the items on the list are to be completed without informing non-contestants that you are participating in a scavenger hunt. For example: “Hug Rick Dancer.” A contestant must get a hug from Rick Dancer without explaining that it is for a scavenger hunt. Or “Give flowers to a stranger.” Can’t tell the stranger why they get flowers. “Make dinner for a stranger.” Same concept. It makes it much more fun that way.
By the way, I did not come up with the “hug Rick Dancer” item. “Obtain a videocassette of the movie Tron” is mine, however.
I suggest you hug anyone who wants one.
What a great list to be on!! I’m jealous (in a good way….)
It would have been great if the guy had done what Jessi says he was supposed to do and just walked up and hugged me. I don’t know what I would have thought. I am honored to be on a hugging list. A few years ago a carload of kids pulled up to our house, knocked on the door and had me sign a scavenger hunt list. We should do that online sometime.
It really is a lot of fun. Wish I had more time to participate. There is somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 items to complete, ranging from “Hug Rick Dancer” to “Write and record a song”. Good stuff.
I too am on the scavenger hunt.
I have yet to find and hug you… but don’t worry. It’s going to happen.
Glad you have a sense of humor about it!
Shanon, now don’t tell me when you hug me. But i’ll know now.
an online scavenger hunt would be awesome! I’d totally participate…I love doing crazy, spontaneous things like that, but right now I’m going to be crazy and spontaneous and go to bed :]] After all it is 1:43 in the morning and I worked tonight and get to go back tomorrow…oh joy. I’m serious..you should come visit sometime…Tuesdays thru fridays after 4…I will be there…well except the week of the 13-18th..I’ll be in Washington being a camp counselor for Campus Life, but other than that I’ll be there!
Totally hugged Rick Dancer today.
I’m just lucky he came into my work. Ha!
1 more point for me.
Yep, She tricked me. I was with my wife, taking a break and this girl walked up and said Rick Dancer can I have a hug. I said, okay and then asked why. She didn’t tell me (the rules of the game say you can’t tell). She only said if you think about it you’ll know. I like this game. My wife’s okay with it too.
haha good story! That’s awesome.
Ha, that’s a lot of hugs to expect…
You are just jealous because you’re in the group and haven’t managed or been around enough to get your hug.
Actually, last time we had coffee was only a few days after the contest started, and as I recall, we did in fact hug goodbye…and you were none the wiser
On that note, however, I should stop by the campaign office more often.
It is funny the situations you run into at Full City. I am going to be hanging around there hoping to run into you soon. Oh yeah, I got a email address-had to catch up with this century-so keep it handy in case you need to forward any interesting conspiracy theories(or whatever). Glad to see your effective campaign in the news these days. email :mossstreetconspiracy@yahoo.com (also give me advance notice of any upcoming UO campus area events you schedule so I do not miss them)
